The Olympic and Paralympic Games
With less than 6 months to go, the city is preparing for the millions of people set to descend upon its grounds this summer as the city hosts the 2012 Olympic Games in July and August and the Paralympics in August and September. This will be the third time London has hosted the games and whether you have tickets or simply want to soak up the atmosphere, it’s set to be the best yet!
London 2012 Festival
From the 21st of June until the 9th September 2012, leading artists from all over the world will come together to bring the UK’s biggest festival yet. Coinciding with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the spectacular 12 week event will give everyone the chance to celebrate London 2012 through the world’s best music, theatre, dance, design, visual arts, literature, film and fashion. The Queens Jubilee
As Her Majesty the Queen celebrates 60 years on the throne, there will be special Diamond Jubilee events taking place all over London. The extra long 4 day weekend from the 2nd – 5th June will welcome the Jubilee Pageant on the Thames, a concert at Buckingham Palace, the Beacon-Lighting event, a Diamonds exhibition at the Palace and many more exciting events.
Harry Potter Warner Bros. Tour
That’s right, it had to be up there with our top 4! Opening March 31st the Warner Bros. Studio Tour will give Harry Potter fans a fantastic opportunity to go behind-the-scenes and discover the magic of Hogwarts. Based in Leavesden, the walking tour will showcase authentic sets, costumes and props from the Harry Potter films and reveal some closely guarded secrets!
