Easter is here and with the children off school for a couple of weeks, we thought we’d help out all the families looking to keep their little monsters busy with our top 5 Easter events and attractions!
1. Warner Bros. Harry Potter Tour
Where? Leavesden, London
When? All year
The highly anticipated Warner Bros.’ Making of Harry Potter studio tour is finally here! The Warner Bros Studio has housed the production of all the Harry Potter films over the past ten years and now invites you to a magical behind the scenes experience! Highlights of the tour include seeing the film sets of Hogwart’s Great Hall, the Gryffindor common room, Dumbledore’s office and the Creature Effects workshop where you can see award-winning animatronics used to create some of the most memorable scenes. For Harry Potter fans, young and old, this is the ultimate Easter treat.
2. Great Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt – Lake District
Where? The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Bowness on Windermere
When? Thursday 5th April
Head to the Lake District this Easter and take part in the UK’s largest Easter Egg hunt with Peter Rabbit! This year 110 ceramic eggs have been specially designed and hand-crafted to celebrate Peter Rabbit’s 110th birthday and the centenary year of ‘The Tale of Mr Tod’. The eggs will be hidden across the Lake District countryside in gardens, by lakes, in villages, and even on the top of hills! Hidden inside each egg is a special prize and if you find one, you’re also entitled to a free visit for up to 2 Adults and 2 Children to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction! There are also 10 top prizes to be won! This is a fantastic event for all the family to enjoy, and it’s totally free to take part!
3. Warwick Castle
When? 31st March – 15th April
There’s loads going on at Warwick Castle this Easter. With a sorcerous dragon egg hunt, mediaeval siege, Warwick Warriors, the Mighty Trebuchet and the Flight of the Eagles, this is the ultimate family day out! Don’t miss the Witches of Warwick, a spooky new attraction offering spells and witchcraft inside the Castle Dungeon (suitable for over 10s) and be sure to visit ‘Merlin: The Dragon Tower’, an interactive attraction inviting children to discover the young magician’s world.
4. Kew’s ‘Mayan chocolate adventure’
Where? Kew Gardens, London
When? 31st March – 15th April
Families will love Kew Gardens this Easter. Fun, excitement, adventure, and most important of all – chocolate! Embark on an interactive adventure trail solving puzzles, taking part in fun activities and discovering the story behind the ingredients used by the ancient Maya in their special chocolate drink. The little ones can get their hands messy in the chocolate making workshops and create something delicious to take home too!
5. Easter with the Pandas at Edinburgh Zoo
Where? Edinburgh, Scotland
When? 4th April – 9th April
The Giant Pandas, Tian Tian and Yang Guang have become Edinburgh’s best loved residents in recent months and this Easter they’ll be hosting a Panda Easter Egg Hunt at Edinburgh Zoo! Children will love the Easter egg decorating workshops and Easter bonnet and card making activities, plus whilst you’re here you’ll get the chance to see all of the other wonderful animals!
